Aquatic Animal Health - Courses/Training

Aquatic Animal Health Management
An IRCC class (4 college credits) - A collaborative program between Harbor Branch and Indian River Community College

Students learn all phases of aquaculture from research to commercial production to marketing. Students gain education and technical training that are highly valued by the aquaculture industry and employers. The Aquaculture Specialization degree is a distinctive two-year program (60 credits). It combines college courses and the workplace environment to prepare students to build a career or start a business in aquaculture. The Aquaculture Technology Certificate is a one-year program (26 credits) that helps students gain the skills they need to immediately begin working in the industry. The Harbor Branch Aquaculture Development Park is the setting for all aquaculture related classes. Here, students are exposed to and trained on research, pilot-scale, and commerical-scale systems for the production of fish, crustaceans, and molluscs. This practical training is supported by a solid foundation of college classes taught at the Indian River Community College campus, located 10 miles from Harbor Branch.
